SooryaBhadrasadanam: Homestay at its best

Soorya, Lit up with candles for the traditional festiv day of Kartika.

"Athithi Devo Bhava"

Every Guest is like a God. Hence, commands the maximum respect and effort by the host to fulfil his needs.

Symbolised by the brass lamp that is lit with gingerly oil every sunset and kept at the entrance of Hindu homes across kerala, its a tradition to bring home our guest with the lamp lit and flowers. Its a way of acknowledging the importance of a guest and also saying that the host is accepting that he is willing to go the extra mile to keep the guest happy.

Many of our repeat visitors to Kerala would be accustomed to this traditional way of welcome at all resorts and other tourist facilities.

At Kerala, For all our guests coming in from across the globe, the very proactive government let individual residences be open to tourists for a much closer or personal experience. We after all are known for our hospitality.

Its been 4 years since Soorya has been open to guests and it has been an exchange equally endearing for both our guests and us as hosts too.

Most common of all requests were that we should have a web presence. Though we have enough guests to attend to across the year and not looking at increasing the services we offer, our guests wanted us online, so that it would be easier for our guests to link to us while sharing their stories about the magical land of Kerala.

We have been on Google Maps for a long time, it too was through one of our guests and it has immensely helped our guests reach our physical location which is pretty deep in the countryside.

So here we are, for our will is to be that host every tourist hopes for and to have a blog online isn't a request that we cant fulfil for all our wonderful guests.

As suggested, we would keep this blog updated with good stories and certainly use this as an online version of our current Guest's remarks and suggestions book.
